Golden Apple Foundation

Have you ever heard of Golden Apple Foundation?

Do you have a favorite teacher?

The Golden Apple Foundation in Chicago was founded by a man who wanted to honor teachers. He and his wife were watching the Academy Awards and thought that someone should honor teachers in the way that we celebrate movie stars. That's how it started....

Now, the Foundation chooses ten teachers each year. But they don't just give them an award and say goodbye. The teachers become part of the Foundation and design programs to improve education. The Foundation and the Academy (the body of award-winners, now over 200 amazing teachers) run those programs and help children in innovative and effective ways.
