A bit about Lavender Cottage from the etsy profile: "A little bit about me....
I've always been addicted to jewelry, especially earrings and rings. My journey as a jewelry artist began almost 20 years ago when I was given a gift of handmade earrings from a friend. I was amazed that she had made them herself - I bought some beads that very week, and I've never looked back. My style has evolved over the years, and I am focusing more and more on metalsmithing. I love the techniques involved, and learn more each year.

Each one of the pieces in my shop is completely handmade. I make all of my own findings for earrings and bracelets unless noted (I sometimes use Hill Tribe silver toggle clasps, and small chains may have commercial springring or lobster clasps). Metal pieces are fabricated by hand using a jeweler's saw, multiple hammers (you can never have too many hammers) and my wonderful acetylene torch. I use mostly fine silver (99.99 pure, and less subject to tarnishing, but softer than sterling), sterling silver, copper and brass, and sometimes gold, whenever the price goes down. The stones and minerals in my pieces are usually natural and not heat-treated unless noted in the description. It is amazing the beauty that comes out of this earth! Like hammers, you can never have too many beads, either!"
