Chewy Lou Designs features inspiring, creative, and stylish (not to mention super soft) shirts. Why is a company founded on inspiration featuring dogs in their logo? The dogs are actually those of the owner, Alyssa Dinowit.
The first shirt created by Alyssa was inspired by her mother's 3rd battle with breast cancer (third....wow.)The shirt features the word LIVE with the deeper meaning of: Love, Imagine, Value, Embrace.
The ideas continued from that point on and Chewy Lou Designs now features several other great thought-provoking designs. The shirts are meant to inspire you though positive thought (you can't be grumpy wearing these shirts, it's pretty much impossible) and to promote physical and most importantly spiritual strength.
I received two shirts from Chewy Lou Designs to review, one short sleeve and one long sleeve. It was so hard to pick two shirts but I finally narrowed it down. My short sleeve shirt is green with pink accents and it says HOPE on the front. The back features the words Harmony, Optimism, Peace, Effort.
The long sleeved shirt I choose is the brown and pink Faith shirt. Of course the colors are what attracted me to it at first, but I love the inspirational word I picked and the other words on the back: Forgive, Accept, Imagine, Trust, Hope.
The first thing I noted about the shirts are how soft they are! Think of the feel of your favorite t-shirt that has been washed and loved - this is the feel that Chewy Lou Designs shirts have. They will be perfect for Spring and Summer.
The second thing I noted, which I didn't realize from the photos on the site, are that the shirts are adorned with a little jewel. It's those small extra touches that really go a long way.
The third thing I noted and what I love about these shirts is how long they are!! I know I'm not the only mama who struggles with her shirts being shorter than they were before having kids - what's that all about?! Whatever it is, long shirts are a must for me and it's hard to tell online sometimes what the true length of a shirt is. Another thing I like about their fit is that they're not out to lunch when it comes to sizing. A large truly is a large. I picked a XL shirt wondering what I'd end up with...a tight little tee? I was pleasantly surprised to see that a size XL fit a bit big on me! I LOVE the overall fit of these shirts, Thank You Alyssa for making shirts that real moms can wear!
